Dreams do come true.

Growing up, I was always obsessed with Paris, the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, and so much more. My comforter on my bed at home right now has the Eiffel Tower and French sayings on it. I also have a little Eiffel Tower that lights up, as well as a light switch. Paris has always been a place to visit on my bucket list, and I still cannot believe I got to cross it off.

Baylee, Hannah, Tia and I set off for Paris on Friday all by ourselves, which we were really proud of. The flight was super quick, but the journey to our place was not. It took over two hours, and we had to take a bus and two trains, but it was oaky because we were so excited.

After settling in, we got dinner, then went on an hour boat tour of the city. We got to see Notre Dame and some other big buildings from afar. When we pulled back into port, the Eiffel Tower was lit up and sparkling. Beautiful does not even begin to capture how amazing it was. We then walked around the tower and waited for it to sparkle again, which happened every hour on the hour for five minutes. We got some pictures and found some dessert. It was a great first day.

While the next day had a late start, we were able to see so many things. Baylee, Hannah and I went to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Again, such AMAZING views. We also went to Notre Dame later that night, but could not get very close because of the construction still being done after the fire in 2019. The church’s reconstruction is said to be done by the end of next year. I would love to see it again and go inside. Again, we found some dessert and food. The restaurant we went to was filled on the main floor, so we went downstairs and nobody else was down there. It was like we had our own little private lounge. Sunday was a short day, but we found a really nice brunch place that had amazing hot chocolate. We also could not get tickets to the Lourve, but it was on us that we did not buy them in advance.

All in all, I cannot believe that I have been living my childhood dream of traveling to Europe these past few weeks. Celebrating my 20th birthday on the 20th in Paris is something I will never forget. While I am excited to go home, I do not want to leave at the same time.

20 on the 20th,

Erin 🙂
