On the weekend of May 12th and 13th we took a class visit to Madrid! I was surprised by the love I had for Madrid! We woke up on Friday and had taken the train to Madrid. We got to Madrid by 11 A.M. After we got there we checked into our hotel rooms and had some free time. Sophia, Katie, Jessie and I had walked around and explored the area. We found a very nice coffee shop! After this, we went on a walking tour with our guide. We saw the Royal Palace of Madrid and walked through various parks. My favorite part of Madrid was when we went and got Nun Cookies! This was so fun. It was interesting as we went down and saw where the nuns made the cookies!
After the tour we had walked over to San Miguel Market. This was my favorite market while being in Spain. We had got various sandwiches and fried octopus. The market was full of life, with so much entertainment, people, and different foods. What I liked most about Madrid was the diversity. By where our hotel was it reminded me a lot of Times Square. But, if you went to different districts of Madrid there was medieval architecture and street performers.
