Tossa Tossa Tossa… Did I say Tossa
One day out of our long free weekend, Me and some roommates went to Tossa to enjoy some warm air, relax on the beach, see some beautiful views and eat some good food… This did not exactly happen. It was a cold, cloudy and rainy day, However we did not let this stop us! We made the most of our day. For food we found a random restaurant. I ordered the seafood paella. This consists of shrimp heads, oyster, rice and a brown stew type of sauce with fried calamari on the side. I unfortunately was not a big fan of this meal. The calamari bread was too thick for me and a little soggy. The Paella lacked seasoning. Now I’ve noticed that not too many seasonings that I am usually accustomed to are not regularly used in Spain. Plus, Not a lot of heavy seasoning is used in meals, Very light. However this dish lacked seasoning all around. As far as a rating goes, The calamari was a 4-5 and the seafood paella was a 6.3 out of 10
We later went for a gelato ( a popular ice cream dish in Spain.) Since we took the 2 1/2 bus ride out to Tossa I figured I deserved three scoops of Gelato. Banana split, tiramisu, and coco. Sounds delicious right? Well I was underwhelmed. The flavors Just did not pop for me. My rating 4-5 out of 10.
Outside of food, we did get to see the castle up the hill in Tossa even with the rain and cold winds. It was a very nice moment sitting on a bench at the top of the hill. Looking over the blue ocean with the wind gliding past your face……
