For my final free day all of my roommates and I went to the MOCA Museum of Barcelona and after that we went on a hike to see this fort/castle. We arrived at the MOCA Museum and if you don’t know what MOCA stands for it’s the Museum of Contemporary Art. Even though we went on the third Sunday of the month we still had to pay about 20 euros to get into the Museum. The MOCA Museum was an experience to say the least it was an interesting museum to go to but it wasn’t my favorite and they completely misrepresented what Banksy and all the other artists were about.

Banksy and the other artists that were represented there believed you should not have to pay to view art and this museum was disrespecting their beliefs. They also overpriced their giftshop items as well. A fridge magnet that said Be the reason to make someone smile today cost 20 euros and that was the cheapest thing in the giftshop. Even though you did have to pay to go into the Museum I would still recommend going to it but go if you can get in for free on another Sunday. The most interesting pieces of art I saw there were NFT’s. I would have never considered an NFT as professional art and I still will not it just seems too lazy for me and there seems to be no meaning behind them.

After the MOCA Museum we then went on an hour hike to see this fort/castle. The reason it’s both a fort and a castle is because the king of Spain stayed in the fort and it was then declared a castle. Getting to the top of the mountain was very satisfying and the castle was free to enter too. There wasn’t much to see in the castle as it was just recently made into a museum. I would recommend going to this place if you are a big hiker or like the history of the Spanish Civil War.
