The last Saturday of the trip, some of us attended a Barca football match. It was one of the craziest experiences of my entire life. The whole day was an interesting one.
That morning, I made some toast and got some coffee, and went around skateboarding. The skateboarding was lovely, of course, as was all of the skateboarding that I did while in Barcelona.
Then, Blake and I went and got some sandwiches. The sandwiches were very good sandwiches – a spanish take on a cheesesteak with manchego cheese. After the sandwiches, we relaxed and mentally prepared for the game.
Eventually, we boarded a metro and headed to the match. A thirty minute journey with a transfer later and we were at Camp Nou. Or at least nearby. We had heard that there wouldn’t be very many food options in the stadium, so we looked for somewhere to eat and ultimately settled on KFC. I absolutely bodied a Malditos chicken sandwich, and then headed off for the stadium.
Once through to our seats, people were sitting in them. This was incredibly awkward to deal with because I was very overwhelmed by the scale of the stadium, and I was not prepared to debate with a native speaker that they were in my seat. Additionally, the lads we were with did not believe me that they were in our seats.
Then one of the workers helped us work it all out and we watched the game. They lost but it was still a great time.
