What a truly magnificent and surreal experience. Never in a million years would I ever think I would have been standing in a church that is still being built since the 1800s. It is such a beautiful structure and you could really see the intricacies and detail that has gone into building it I found it so fascinating to that it has had two different architects. I loved getting to learn about it before and then going and seeing it. What a massive building. You could literally see it from miles away. I loved getting to walk through the inside of it as well. Being able to see the sun light shining in through the windows was beautiful. I am also a very spiritual person, I’m not catholic but I am a follower of Christ, and to be able to stand in a place where God is so prevalent literally gave me chills. A little fun fact that was super crazy to learn is that Gaudi is literally buried in the church. You can go and see his tomb which was just mind blowing.
Park Guell was also had me star struck. I truly loved the architecture of Spain, it’s so beautiful and Park Guell was no different. Getting to see the way that the architecture moved with the earth, and how bottles and other man made objects were also used to help build some of the park was just jaw dropping. I will never forget the beauty of this park and the history behind it. Seeing Gaudis old house was also so crazy to me. I absolutely loved this part of the trip and if I ever get to go back I’m talking whoever I’m with here!
