All I can say is WOW! On our last free weekend in Europe, Sophia and I decided to take a three day trip to visit Rome, Italy. This was a dream come true for me. My whole life I have dreamed of one day visiting Italy and I was so lucky I got to, especially with one of my best friends!
We started our trip by waking up at three A.M. where we took our flight from Barcelona to Rome. As I had been super tired I slept the whole way there. We got off the plane and then took the transit straight to our hotel. Our hotel was right above the Spanish Steps! The location of our hotel was a plus. It was right at the center of everything so we got to walk everywhere. And we surely did get all our steps in! We started off our day just by walking around the heart of Rome. We grabbed breakfast where I had the best cafelatte I have ever had!! We then walked down by the Spanish Steps. Later we got lunch and headed back to check into our hotel. We then had tickets to see The Vatican and Sistine Chapel. This was truly incredible. Seeing the Sistine Chapel was breathtaking. Everything about the Vatican and Sistine Chapel was beautiful. Later that night we went to dinner and then got ready for our second day in Rome!
On our second day here in Rome we woke up early to go to the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain before it got too crowded! We then got a big breakfast. Then we went to St Peters Basilica. This was another beautiful sight that I was blown away by. Here we saw the Pieta! This was one of my highlights of the trip. After St. Peters we had gone to lunch where we had PIZZA! It was incredible. All of the food we had in Italy was wonderful. We then explored Rome some more! We went back to our hotel and then got ready for dinner. Where again we had incredible food!
On our third and final day we started off by going to mass at Basilica San Silvestro in Capite. This was amazing. This was one of my favorite things I had done the entire trip. I was feeling extremely grateful! After mass, we got breakfast and then headed over to see the Colosseum.
