On May 16, we visited Barcelona’s Museum of Modernism. I very much enjoyed my time there. The artwork was definitely modern and easy for me to dissect and understand. I appreciate seeing some of Gaudi’s pieces in the museum and also all of the historic furniture pieces that were there. What I loved most about this museum was all of the colorful stained glass. It was absolutely gorgeous. I was able to snap a few cool photos of a few of them. There was also tons of cool wall art that were framed that I seemed to gravitate toward. I love art and museums in general, so I always walk over to a piece that speaks to me the most. Our guide was very informative and answered any questions that we had regarding all of the artwork. I enjoyed hearing him explain how women are “mysterious” and explains the artwork that fit in with that. I rate my experience there a 9/10.
Later on in the day, we went to go watch people stacking. For the first half of our time there, we had a long lecture on the history behind people stacking and how they do what they do. It seriously takes a village and a whole lot of bravery to do it. I found it so interesting watching people practice at the Castellers. It was shocking to see children climbing at the very top. At that age, I would’ve most certainly been terrified! They did it with ease and everyone for the most part seemed to be pretty fearless. This was a pretty long day, but all in all I had a great time.
