Today, we began with a tour of a museum called, The museum of modernism Barcelona. If I am being completely honest the tour guide was not the most engaging. He obviously knew his information but his three second pauses between each word had me a bit antsy. I did learn a new word called Biophilia which means “love of life.” This made me so happy because that’s the way I feel everyday. I also enjoyed the emphasis the art in the museum had on nature since that is how I escape the day to day monotony that can sometimes be life.

Later on, we had a guest lecturer at the CEA. I enjoyed it but I also felt I could have read the slides to myself and got the same information that was given to us by our lecturer who showed up about 20 minutes late.

Up next we got to see the Castellers which are human constructed towers! I had never seen anything like this before. It was so refreshing to see such spirited passion from Catalonia because this is not something we have in America…such a large sense of community.

I was a bit nervous about the children who were at the top of the towers just because I would not want my child to be so high up in the air supported by only human bodies. However, they did wear special helmets designed for heavy impact. This was such a great day and I can’t wait to sleep in tomorrow!
