Today we had our final lecture here in Barcelona. It was nice to have a lecturer who was completely prepared to speak with us since previously this was not the case. We headed on over to the CEA by footlocker for the very last time. Dressed business casual of course. I do have a secret dream of being a business woman so being able to wear my blazers for these kinds of occasions has made me beyond happy.
The presentation was over J. Ortega’s advertising business. I enjoyed how he put an emphasis on the fact that he didn’t use any fancy software and was still successful. When I make videos I usually use imovie which I get insecure about because it doesn’t feel professional for some reason. It is nice to know you can still have a business without all of the extra apps etc.
The advertising idea that the company created for Vueling airlines was extremely innovative and fun. They made a game where people had to find certain spots on the map around Spain and were rewarded with flying points. The system they developed did get hacked however the company was able to fix problems and remedy their cheating problem.
Overall, the presentation was intriguing and informative. J ortega is obviously passionate about what he does which made it easy to listen to. I also felt that every question asked by students in our class was answered directly and thoroughly. What a great way to finish up the academic portion of this trip.
