Today I booked a lunch at a place called the Husky House. I’ve been really missing my own dogs back home and wanted to hang out with some dogs to fill the void.
The Husky House is an Airbnb experience where you can pet 4 very well-trained huskies and then eat tapas while the owners educate you on both the husky breed and the history of tapas. Although nothing beats seeing my own pets, this was a nice alternative.
It was a little house with the living room sectioned off for the huskies and guests to sit and hang out together. I was surprised to learn that huskies in Spain are relatively calmer.
The owners explained that huskies come in two types. The first is more for show, which means they are generally calmer and what the majority of what people in Spain who own huskies have. The second is the work type. They are given out only to people who really need them, and have work that the dog can perform. The two types have dif
ferences in size, muscle mass, and energy levels.
The owners later explained said that the US mixes these two types creating the crazy husky personalities we typically see. The dogs knew a number of tricks and we all got to do a little photoshoot with them. Afterward, we were served the tapas which was very good.
That night we had a business
visit with the Metropolitan Barcelona. This magazine is one of the most popular magazines for English speakers. And that’s about it.
