Guell Park is one of the most beautiful parks I’ve ever visited. In all honesty Barcelona is all together just a beautiful city. If I’m not mistaken, This is the park where the Cheetah girls filmed their iconic dance scene together. This is a large park designed by Antoni Gaudi and you can tell there was much thought and care into building the park. Nature really surrounds you as you walk through. Music plays in the background as different local artists try to make a name for themselves. Going up and down hills as you overlook the city. Gaudi made sure not to interfere with the natural flow of nature and did not cut any trees, flowers etc, Gaudi had a real respect and understanding for natural life.
At one point on the tour there are benches you can sit on that give you an overview of the city. The most popular part of the tour is the mosaic snake bench which is made out of reusable glass. My favorite fact about this place is that there are built in tunnels for rain water to go down that helps the plants and trees continue to grow which I thought was super thoughtful to make and include in the park ( However it does not rain much in Barcelona) walking down the steps there is an adorable school built by Gaudi in the shape of a gingerbread house with the reusable color glass included into the design. It’s actually a neighborhood that looks like it came out of a story book that is across the street from the park.
