I like to consider myself a beginner foodie enthusiast. Barcelona is the perfect place to start this journey by trying as many new places and flavors as I can. In my neighborhood I have a large selection of different food places to explore! Barcelona, Spain is not a hard place to find food, Very easy access to find food at any time. There’s nothing like soaking up the sun surrounded by beautiful, colorful scenery with a delicious meal. Since arriving on May 3rd, I’ve already had a large variety of different foods/meals I have indulged in and have not been disappointed in the least. For this post I will be sharing some of my top favorites thus far.

Jump Off Meal-

One of the first excursions we went on as a class was to a nice private lunch ( Lunch is a major factor here in Barcelona.) Lunch included four Tapas ( which is kind of like an American appetizer) One meal and one dessert. One of the Tapas that stood out the most for me was a plate of potatoes with an orange/yellow sauce mixed in. The potatoes were cooked nicely with a slight golden color. The crunch of the potatoes and the sauce made a perfect balance.

Best Empanada Ever-

Empanadas are very popular here in Barcelona, Spain. There are many different shops that provide this delicious treat. However! On my first full day I took a stroll around my current neighborhood and stumbled upon an Empanada shop. I ordered the Curry Chicken and Tomato Mozzarella empanada and… IT WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! The Curry Chicken was my favorite. The flavors immediately hit your tongue with its fresh hot flavors. My only regret is that I did not catch the name of the shop and have been looking for it ever since.

New and exciting Tapas-

Have you ever tried Oxtail croquettes and Vegan Chicken croquettes? If not It is a must have 10 out of 10. At the Reial Club Maritim De Barcelona which is another restaurant I and a fellow classmate, This restaurant only serves Tapas and It was affordable and delicious. I only wish that the restaurant served you more than two crochets because I personally could have eaten a handful. The two crochets I had melted in my mouth.

Seafood All Day Everyday

Up the street from me there is a small shop called The Lobster Roll and that is exactly what I got. A toasted roll with a special lemon sauce glazed on with a large filling of lobster with oil drizzled on top. It was accompanied with a side of plain potato chips and a strawberry banana smoothie!

Overall I have been enjoying my time and enjoying the food that comes along with the journey!
