First full day. It started with a faculty orientation at CEA for me & Teresa. We found a cute little café, as is so common around Europe, and got ourselves a little bit of pastry and coffee for breakfast.

Thankfully CEA gave us some additional coffee to help combat jet lag! The students all made it on time and CEA went over a lot of the policies and tips for the students.
We then had a tapas lunch next door which was delicious! There was so much food! Apparently, we were a little too American by putting the food on the provided plates rather than eating straight out of the dishes! I really enjoyed the patatas bravas, calamari, and the main dish, fideua, which was like a paella but featured more pasta-like rice. In reality though, everything we ate was good!

We then went on a walking tour of Barcelona. We covered the Gothic Quarter, Jewish Quarter, Las Ramblas and some other areas. It was a busy day but not too bad for the first full day. Teresa and I went to the same place we had the night before for dinner because it was so good (Ca L’enric). It is amazing how reasonable prices are compared to American restaurants!
I will definitely be eating my way through this trip! I think my favorite was a midafternoon snack of Tapas (& an Aperol Spritz).
