Had to be up early to catch the high speed train to Madrid. 3 hours later and we landed in Madrid’ bustling downtown. It reminded me a lot of New York City, which is a double edged sword. It’s busy and there’s a lot of shops. But on the other hand, it’s really busy. After the walking tour to the royal palace and a quick detour for freshly baked nun cookies, a few of the other boys and I set off onto an adventure to buy the latest Legend of Zelda game, Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
We also visited this tiny retro gaming store in a tiny mall called Chollo Games. It was narrow, but packed to the brim with retro games, consoles, and memorabilia. I didn’t pick anything up because most of the games would not work on my console in the states. Still a ton of cool stuff to look at for sure.
The next day was spent at the Mueso del Prado. I got to admire the works of Francisco Goya and many others. No pictures allowed, which was actually quite refreshing because I got to fully appreciate the art and admire all of the hard work. Some things like that just don’t come through the camera. I also got to eat in the tiny basement of a restaurant which specialized in fried calamari, and it was delicious. Madrid was a crazy trip. I am excited to be back in Barcelona though, it’s a lot more relaxed here.
