I’ve waited until all was said and done on this trip to write out these posts for two reasons – after finishing the school year, I was incredibly burnt out on writing and while we were in Barcelona I ended up incredibly hard at work on a project that I wasn’t expecting to get so in-depth with.
The first full day I was incredibly overwhelmed. I knew enough Spanish to get by politely, but based on what had been said I was expecting more people to understand English. I am not complaining, I am just saying that that caused a bit of confusion in my head. Beyond that, the culture shock of being in a new city was a lot, and frankly it was a lot more than I expected.
That being said, it was a fun day – I had some great coffee, a delicious lunch, and went on a walking tour. After the tour, the fellas had a delightful evening eating pizza, exploring the city of Barcelona, and playing Super Smash Bros – all in all it was a very fun day, and a lot less tiring than the previous day, when we were fighting for our lives to stay awake.
One other thing that I did that day – pose for photos in front of a Crocs store. That image is available on the Instagram hashtag #SpainPPU, and in my opinion is the highest quality post on the hashtag. In total seven photos were taken in front of the store.
