Day 2

Started off the morning with a walk to a local market. This is where the locals shopped, and there was aisles and aisles of fresh meat and fish. I stumbled my way through a conversation to buy some coffee. I can’t wait for tomorrow when the pot is clean so I can make some fresh coffee. It’s gonna be awesome.

Today we went to a skate shop. Barcelona is a huge skateboarding hub, and the guy working there was super friendly. He told us about this series of parties he and his friends would have on the Barcelona metro, which was insane to hear about. They brought disco balls and shut the lights off in the train. There was a book chock full of pictures from the years past. Crazy stuff.

Then after lunch of Jamon sandwiches and french fries (not as good as the States) we embarked on a jazz cruise. I got to enjoy a beverage and admire the scenic views of the Barcelona coast There was also a jazz duo who were super chill. We checked out a mall at the edge of the Ramblas coast. There was nothing interesting in there, apart from one toy store with a glass floor adorned in Hot Wheels card.

Most importantly, I got to visit the bridge from the Barcelona level in Tony Hawk’s Underground 2. This was a huge, important goal for me. I am excited to have accomplished it so early.  I hope to check out a few other areas from the game as well, namely Parc Guell. I hope I can take as many pictures of these locations as possible.

I ended the day with some of the greatest Japanese food I have ever had. I’m not a big fan of sushi so I went with yakisoba and it was amazing. The beef melted in my mouth and the shrimp was no slouch either. The peppers gave it an additional flair. Overall, another great day in this beautiful city.

Today’s song is Lost in the Supermarket by the Clash!
