5/8/23
This morning I awoke to my Apple Watch not turning on. I did swim with it in the Mediterranin, and I thought the water removal feature was enough, but it looks like it was not. Off to the Apple Store I went!
First, Baylee, Shannon, Arianna and I went to get lunch at a nearby restaurant. Their orange juice was so fresh. Hands down one of the best I have ever had. Also, it has been really interesting to see how smoking is allowed on the terasses. There were even two ashtrays on our table. It made me feel like I was in the 50s.
After lunch, we headed to the Apple Store where I was greeted with a 30 minute wait time, so Baylee and I went window shopping nearby. We found the Lego store, and I knew we had to go in. Their display pieces were INSANE. They had lego versions of La Sagrada Familia and Park Guell, which we are seeing both tomorrow. These lego sculptures were easily five to six feet tall and about 10 feet wide. There were also parts of the floor that were clear and legos were underneath it. It was so cool.
We waited about 20 more minutes after my original appointment time at Apple, and finally someone came over to help, but it was no real help at all. The guy said that Apple Watches are different in Spain, that mine would have to be sent to the store in Madrid and that it would take over two weeks to fix. He then said to “have a nice life.” I am sure it was a translation error, but it did make me a bit mad. However, I calmed down in time for the tapas cooking class.
The kitchen felt like the television show Chopped, which I love and watch all the time with my family. Tatum, Shannon, Arianna and I got the easiest tapa to make, which was pan con tomate. We also sliced up some cheese and meat and tried to make our plating look as fancy as possible. The other tapas were pretty good. The guys did a great job on the calamari, and I actually liked the pepper stuffed with tuna on bread. I was super excited to try gazpacho, but it was too tomato heavy for me. All in all, I think I can whip up a few at home. I am super excited to see La Sagrada Familia and Park Güell tomorrow!
Have a nice life!
Erin 🙂
