5/5/23

This morning brought much better energy, as our fridge did not stop working throughout the night. I think I have established a little morning routine of eating cereal on our balcony. This time I put some sliced up bananas and blueberries again with some honey, and it hit the spot. I love people watching and trying to pick up some Spanish or Catalan. The mornings are so peaceful.

Then came the trouble of picking an outfit and finding the meeting spot. Shoutout to our map for today: Gavin. It was nice to finally see the water. As we were waiting in line to get on the boat, there were two men doing tricks with a soccer ball (or fútbol). It reminded me of the cello player yesterday. It is really amazing and inspiring to see all the talent here.

There are no words to describe how beautiful sailing was. I had never been on a catamaran boat before and was a little nervous that I would get sea sick, but the sailing was relatively. The netting that we sat on allowed for even more nice cool air to come through, and it was really cool to see the water underneath. They were not kidding when they said to bring a jacket because as someone who is always hot, I even got cold in my warm sweater. It was so nice to just sit, relax and admire the view after walking basically for two days straight. I would love to go again.

For the remainder of the day, some of us girls stopped at a Mexican restaurant nearby. I had some amazing chicken tacos. We then tried to figure out the train/subway, which posed quite the challenge. We ended up giving up after a few stops and walking the rest of the way, which I am so glad that we did because we passed some Gaudi architecture and some designer stores. We even passed a monastery. I swear every street we turn there is something new to explore. I am having an absolute blast.

iBuenas noches!

Erin 🙂
