Hi Everyone,
Baylee, Riley, and I went to a public beach in Barcelona and had a really great day! We’ve been warned about these beaches left and right but we had a really great experience. First of all, no one robbed us which is always a good thing! Secondly, we made friends with lots of German guys on the beach and formed a little group with our new German friends! There weren’t many people on the beach either so it was really relaxing.
I think the best part of the beach was the fact that there was a beach bar just a couple hundred feet from where we were laid out and we got drinks! We made friends with one of the waiters and he even gave me his phone number so we could just text him our orders and didn’t have to walk back up to the beach bar! That man is such a sweetheart.
The first group of Germans we met we’ve been calling the “big Germans” because they were older than the other group of them. There were three of them and they taught us some German! I can now say thank you, yes, no, cheers, and a German curse word! The three of them were super cool and we exchanged our social medias and have been talking to them since!
The next group was the “little Germans” and they told us they were 19 and 20 but after they left the big Germans told us they were totally lying about their ages. I have a hard time grasping people’s ages here since smoking and drinking is so normalized and it ages them! They had a volleyball with them so we all played a game together and were team USA (with the big Germans) vs team Germany (little Germans and there were a lot more of them.) I think our team did win but the big Germans carried.
After our game, we went and got lunch at the beach bar we went to earlier and had our waiter friend there (picture below!) Once lunch was over we all went back home and rested for the rest of the day. I’m still working on my tan and we will definitely go back to that beach!
