After a day exploring the land of Barcelona, we took our sightseeing to the sea and headed out on a catamaran. After a short train ride to the dock, we arrived jut a few minutes before the catamaran came to pick us up. The location was actually right next to where we had dinner the previous night, so it was fun having some familiarity of the area. The front of the boat had four nets overlooking the water where I chose to sit. We sat at the dock for a little while and got to feel the Mediterranean sun on our skin – it was amazing!
Once we set out, we passed under the gondolas, next to the helicopter tours, and then alongside all of the massive cruise ships that are currently docked in Barcelona. After that, we were out at sea. The views of the city only got more incredible as we moved away from shore, where you could almost see the entire city from our boat. On the other side was the mountain, and I cannot decide which view was more beautiful! There were also so many yachts and sailboats out on the water which I really enjoyed looking at. I could have stayed on the catamaran for days!
The experience on the boat was exciting as well. There was
live music with a guitarist and a saxophone, and at the end, one even pulled out a harmonica!
Towards the end of the boat ride, they pulled from a raffle a winner that was given a free drink on board, and I won! In leu of our European trip, I chose and Aperol Spritz which was very refreshing as we set back into the dock to end the tour.
As a person who loves boats and water, this experience was highly anticipated for me, and it did not disappoint. This new perspective of Barcelona only made the city that much more magical.
