Hi friends!

After we concluded with the rest of our group in Sitges, Jonah, Joey, Gavin, and I checked into our Airbnb and made a quick trip to the beach. We wanted to go for a quick swim before we headed to dinner, but sadly the water was quite chilly. I took a dip nonetheless, but settled on swimming the next day when the sun is out. The boys and I headed back to get ready for dinner.

There was a big music festival happening the night we were in Sitges and the concerts were going on until almost 1 a.m.! The town was super busy, but I was excited to see such prevalent nightlife in a cute beach town. Many restaurants were busy but we were able to get a table at La Oca. We were drawn in by the rotisserie chicken cooking in the doorway. We all ordered Catalonian meals and were not disappointed. Jonah even ordered rabbit and snails! We learned that Sitges is the gay capital of the world, so we stopped for a few drinks at a cute, outdoor gay bar to enjoy the lovely weather.

The next morning we had to check out of the Airbnb, Leonardo, between 10 and 11 a.m. and then headed straight to the beach. Without many people out and about yet we all took a little nap at the beach. The day before we were in the sun all day and I got a bit burnt, so I was really diligent about putting sunscreen on. We met up with a few other classmates that stayed the night in Sitges and we all enjoyed the beach together.

I was so excited to go swimming in the sea again, especially because there are small waves and no currents. Despite the chilly water, I was diving in the waves and swimming to shore. It is shocking how far out you can walk in the water and still reach the ground. After some reading on the beach and empanadas, we all packed up and headed to the train.

The train ride back to Barcelona was about 40 minutes and had great views. I finished my day with a shower and a tapas dinner (surprise surprise). I will never forget this fun day trip to Sitges and the amazing town!
