We got to visit Teatere Illure, and it was a really cool experience. I love theater, so getting a tour of one of Barcelona’s premiere theaters was very cool. It was cool to see how modular the stage is. The seats can be raised and lowered to fit the mood of the play. One could have a traditional theater experience, a black box, or even a long hallway. I’ve seen black boxes and regular theaters before, but I’ve never seen something that could do both. I wish I had done a little more homework on this place before coming. Seeing a show there would be quite cool, even if I didn’t understand language the show was being performed in.

After that we got a talk from Josep Ortega from Kings of Mambo. A premiere ad agency run by a small handful of graphic designers and computer programmers. The websites they have worked on were nothing short of impressive. It seems like their team is so in tune with one another that they don’t even have to really ask each other what they’re doing. I especially liked some of the ARG advertising campaigns they were working on. Especially the one about dribbling a basketball through Spain. This had a website to track and match the progress of the bar, which is a neat ad campaign for sure. Some other ones included scavenger hunts. It was also funny to hear how they banned cheaters by placing objectives in Antarctica. Why anyone would want to cheat at a marketing campaign is completely beyond me.
