We start our day with an Early Visit to see Teatre Illure. The tour was great and we were able to go on to their stage and learn about how intricate their stage and seating is. They are able to rearrange the theater in any way they want since all of their seats are lifted on this hydraulic squares that can be moved around and lifted up. It was also interesting learning about the historical context of the theater, and we were informed that the city is the main financial contributor for shows instead of donations and ticket sales! I with that the U.S. would adapt to a system that prioritizes the arts like this! They have a deep appreciation for performing arts. We also saw the dressing rooms and rehearsal rooms!

Our lecturer today was Josep Ortega, who is the founder and creative director for Kings of Mambo, a graphic design and website interface company. He has worked in the industry for around 25 years and has also taught design. His work is very interesting, and I loved seeing how simple yet complex the designs they made are. I really enjoyed his perspective on branding and working with brands to create something that is in your style but also reflects the brand. Their work is very modern, often featuring bold colors and simple designs and text. Overall it was a great end to our trip and I am glad we ended with such a cool visit and a lecture from someone with so much experience!
