On Tuesday, May 9th, I had the opportunity to visit two remarkable landmarks in Barcelona: Sagrada Familia, the largest Catholic church in the world, and Park Güell. I was particularly excited about visiting Sagrada Familia, as it is one of the biggest parts of Barcelona history, and an architectural masterpiece!
As we walked up the stairs from the metro, I was met with the awe-inspiring sight of a gigantic and stunning church. The excitement to explore its interior grew exponentially. Before entering, we were informed that the recent Pope had designated Sagrada Familia as a minor basilica, further enhancing its significance.
Inside Sagrada Familia, I was overwhelmed by its sheer size. Once completed, the church will measure an impressive 90 meters wide and 180 meters high, equivalent to the length of a professional soccer field. Interestingly, only one mass assembly takes place each Sunday, accommodating a limited attendance of just 600 people. The overall experience of Sagrada Familia was truly extraordinary, making it a must-visit destination, particularly for devout individuals.
Following our visit to Sagrada Familia, we proceeded to Park Güell. This private park was a breathtaking sanctuary with greenery and captivating architecture. The park welcomed us with its unique rock formations, serving as the foundation of a bridge, which was truly fascinating. As we explored further, we encountered more architectural wonders throughout the park, each with its own charm.
The day’s adventures to Sagrada Familia and Park Güell left an indelible mark on me. Sagrada Familia and the ambiance of Park Güell were such an incredible sight. Barcelona’s rich cultural and architectural heritage were beautifully showcased in these iconic landmarks, making it a destination that should not be missed by any visitor to the city.
