Our tour guide, Albert, explained the one-year cycle of harvesting grapes for wine, as well as all of the gadgets and adaptations that have come from making wine over the years. We were then taken inside to tour the cellars and were walked through the process from grape, to bottle, to selling. As we walked through each room, I was enthralled by the mechanisms that have been created to increase efficiency in the fermentation and packaging of the wine. Between the crystal clear water and the white streets, I was in complete awe. We went on a walking tour of the town where we learned about the history of Sitges, which included beautiful theaters, cathedrals, and even a little lesson on Bacardi. After out tour, we were given a few free hours in the city where we tried some local restaurants, walked through the streets, stopped in several shops, and took in the views of the ocean.
