May 7: Dublin Walking Tour<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We finally got to see Dublin in a fully conscious state. Today was our walking tour. At first I was worried since I usually can\u2019t hear the person speaking, or we walk too far and I don\u2019t retain any information or know where I am. This tour was different. We would stop along the way at important landmarks so that we could all hear the history behind it. This tour made me realize that Dublin is literally the Pittsburgh of Europe. It takes about 45 minutes to walk from one side of the city to the other, the streets are very confusing, and running in front of moving cars is everyone\u2019s favorite game. While I loved this tour for teaching me some history and getting me familiar with the place we\u2019ll be living, I do just feel stuck in Pittsburgh. I can\u2019t wait to get to see the coastline further into the trip!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

After our tour, we had the rest of the day to ourselves. A few of us checked out the shopping center, where I got to try European McDonald\u2019s. It was delicious and way better than the U.S.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After that, we went to St. Stephen\u2019s Green (the park) to take some pictures of birds. It was very calming walking through the park seeing everyone sunbathing due to the \u201cheat wave\u201d. It was 60 degrees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To wrap up our first full day in Dublin, a group of us went to our first pub! It was so fun watching experience their first pint of Guiness. Pretty much everyone absolutely hated it! We went to bed a bit later than the night before, which we will probably regret in the morning. I cannot wait to keep exploring!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
