Today we went on a very special class excursion to the Guinness Storehouse. This was categorized as a cultural experience as the Guinness family has had a huge impact on the city of Dublin and the company is older than the country of Ireland itself.<\/p>\n\n\n

We headed to the storehouse in the late afternoon and began the self-guided tour of the place. The facility was similar to the Wonka Chocolate Factory in its grandiose design and displays. There were faux barley fields, a water display that spelled out Guinness and showed pints and a huge \u201cyeast library\u201d. There was a huge tasting room that began with a scent display where you went up to different fountains that dispersed all the ingredients of Guinness in an aerated form. After this room, we were moved to a tasting room where we were taught how to drink a Guinness properly and then given mini-pints to test our skills. <\/p>\n\n\n

After this we went and explored the world of Guinness advertising which was quite exciting to see as this was really what set the beer apart from all others. The different methods of advertising really proved how experimental and creative with advertising. Above the advertising was the infamous gravity bar. Here we got our complimentary pint of Guinness and was able to look out on the entire city of Dublin. The Guinness in the gravity bar tasted the best out of all the pints I had on my trip and this one also felt the hardest. After my pint I moved on to the gift shop which is conveniently placed after the bar to really ensure sales are high.\u00a0This storehouse was the most extravagant display of beer I have ever seen and I highly recommend to all beer drinkers in Dublin.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
