It is a coastal rock formation comprised of these distinct columns of rock that cluster together against the tides.

The main path to this attraction diverges into two walkways. A high path and a low path. The high path takes you across the higher cliffside that overlooks the causeway. While the lower path brings you there by walking low and parallel with the beach.

We started on the high path but then hiked downward and returned by walking on the low path. I’m glad we did this because it allowed us to see the location from both a high altitude and by walking directly on top of it.

The rocks are very beautiful to see against the deep blue ocean and climbing them is very fun. It actually reminded me of the kind of jungle gyms I used to play in when I was younger.

Something I found very interesting was that a similar geographic location can be found in Scotland across the ocean. This has lead to legends existing where these two rock formation were once connected through a land bridge across the ocean. A bridge giants used, hence the name. I love hearing stories and legends that revolve around real life places.

It’s fascinating how you can find something so drastically different in a new place but to the people who live there it’s just a mundane aspect of their home.

I recommend to anyone traveling in Ireland to visit this breathtaking location, even for just an hour or two, it truly is one of a kind.

Another destination I visited in Ireland that I feel a need to talk about is the giant’s causeway.
