Today we went to the Parliament building, and I had no idea what to expect because I don’t know <\/p>\n\n\n\n
that much about the government. Turned out to be a big deal! We couldn’t take photos, which I <\/p>\n\n\n\n
was bummed about because I could have used some for bragging purposes. We walked through <\/p>\n\n\n\n
some rooms and corridors, and they told us about the rich family that once lived there. The woman <\/p>\n\n\n\n
of the house had twenty-one She had an affair and divorced her husband to marry the<\/p>\n\n\n\n
another guy. We also got to sit in the decision room. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The blue carpet was beautiful and really stood out to me. The old dining room we saw was huge, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
too. It was amazing to visit the Irish Parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also had a guest speaker who was an author, and I didn’t believe I would enjoy it as much as I <\/p>\n\n\n\n
did. She provided us with information regarding her career in journalism and writing, and how <\/p>\n\n\n\n
journalism has developed over the years. Something that really stayed with me was how individuals <\/p>\n\n\n\n
aren’t as fascinated with longer stories anymore\u2014everyone simply wants immediate information <\/p>\n\n\n\n
on their phones. She also discussed some of what she’s experienced, such as having written an <\/p>\n\n\n\n
article about a prisoner who fixated on her. It was intriguing and quite frightening. Overall, a busy day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
