Day Nine was an early start as we had to be in the lobby at 8:30 to head over to the IFCO Museum. We walked over to the IFCO Museum, and were greeted by Dave, who is one of their classification officers.

He classifies films based on how suitable they are for people. He took us into the theater and explained that classifiers base a films rating on four categories – Violence, Drugs, Sexual Content, and Language. Based on how strong these categories are will determine whether the film gets a G, PG, 12A, 15A, 16, or 18 rating. 12A functions like a PG-13 rating in America. And 15A and 16 are similar to an R rating. 18 is similar to our NC-17 rating.

After he explained these to us, we watched an Irish Short Film called The Golden West, and would have to classify it. It was about a pair of sisters searching for gold in the Irish countryside, and they fight and get into arguments over what they are doing.

It was a very good short film; however it had some very adult themes, mainly that had to do with suicide. As a result, we gave the film a 15A classification. After that I had a really good breakfast burrito, and then worked on my paper for the class, as I did it on IFCO.

Later, I went with Ash to Phoenix Park. This is supposed to be the largest park in Europe, and it was so beautiful. There were many nice trees, and plants, and also a lot of wildlife.

I saw what I thought was an interesting looking duck, but I found out later it was a coot.

There were also a lot of structures there, including a giant monument called the Wellington Monument, that looked a lot like the Washington Monument.

This park was very peaceful, and I liked it better than St. Stephen’s Green. This was a nice calm way to end off the day.
