Sooo, it was the day we finally made our first stop outside the city, we headed to Howth!
We headed to the city by train, and to be honest, I love taking the train seeing all the different neighborhoods and the beautiful scenery along the way. Ahhh, I just love public transportation, Our tour guide took us to the station and where we picked up our Leap Cards and got ready for the ride.
The ride to Howth takes about 30 minutes, and it gave me the chance to explore the towns we passed along the way.
When we arrived in Howth, the area reminded me so much of Erie, PA. The smell of the ocean breeze and the sound of seagulls screeching instantly gave me the feeling that we were in for a great time. Our first stop of the trip was up the hill to the Ye Olde Hurdy Gurdy Museum of Vintage Radio. There, we learned about the history of radio and how it developed across different countries. It was fascinating to discover that Ireland still relies heavily on radio for information today. The lovely man at the museum showed us some vintage radios that still work and it was sooo cool!

You might be wondering how the title of this post connects to the story and here’s the fun part. Just before we entered the museum, a producer from Sweden asked if we’d be willing to be filmed for some B-roll footage while exploring. And as a group (well… just me), I said YESSSS because why not? I mean, what are the odds that someone from Pittsburgh would get the chance to be feature in a super popular Swedish game show.
This is definitely going to be part of my life lore, and TRUST! I’ll be telling my future children and grandchildren!
