Day Six was a free day, but we already had an event planned out. E, Ash and I wanted to go try to see a Fairy Forest, so we quickly made plans for our free days. E, Ash, Max, and I all paid for a half day bus trip to Wicklow. We had to meet up by the Spire, but this was cool because we now knew where that and the Dublin Portal were.

We got to look at the Spire, but the Dublin Portal wasn’t really active at the moment. So, we agreed to come back to it later. We got on a bus tour and soon found our tour guide was very knowledgeable. It was about an hour drive to Wicklow, and our bus driver did a great job entertaining us. HE told us how he has escorted a number of famous people, such as Bill Clinton, Michael Bublé, and Beyonce. His stories made for a very enjoyable ride to Wicklow. Once we made it there, we were all enamored. This was a perfect time for Max and I to take more pictures and for us to explore. First, we got to see old ruins that were there. There was a big graveyard, and an old tower.

So, we explored it and took lots of pictures. As we continued along on our adventure, we got to see many pretty views. Wicklow has a mountainous range, with lots of greenery and flowers. It also has a lake that is relaxing to sit by and take pictures of.

After a little bit, we decided to stop and treat ourselves to some ice cream. I got a Reese’s Sundae which was very tasty. After that we headed back to our tour bus. And as we were heading back, we encountered what seemed like pollen floating in the air. But to us, we thought of fairies. The area we were walking back in seemed to be like our “Fairy Forest” that we were looking for.

It certainly felt different, something in the air maybe. But it was fun to experience! We got back to Dublin and were dropped off where we started. So we went over to the Portal, which was now more active. We waved hello to people from across the world. It was fun to see.

For the rest of our day, we all decided to walk around that area and look at the shops. We stopped in a lot of comic shops and vintage clothing stores. But the coolest thing for me was when we stopped in the House of Names store. This whole trip, I have been looking for something with My Family Coat of Arms. While my last name is Zahniser, I am part of the McCartney family on my mom’s side. This is clearly and Irish name, and I had been looking for our coat of arms in various shops. And I was once again hoping that it would be at this one. I searched and searched and finally looked up to see it hanging there on the wall. I explained to the store owner why I wanted it so badly, and as a result, he decided to give me a little discount. He gave it to me for $100 instead of $120.

I was so happy to find this and will be hanging it for everyone to see when I get back home. This was a great end to my day!
