Howth is Heaven on Earth

Day Five was my favorite day yet. This was our day trip to Howth, which included our trip to the Hurdy Gurdy Radio Museum. We first had to take the Irish Dart Train to get to Howth. This felt very similar to me as to taking the T in Pittsburgh. You tap a card when you get on and off of it. What I will say is that it’s a lot nicer than Pittsburgh. Once we got off the train, we took in Howth. We had to make a Trek to get to the Hurdy Gurdy Museum, but that was okay because there were a lot of sights to see and pictures to be taken on the way there.

Once we actually got up to the Museum, we had to split into two groups because it was so small. This gave us time to chill and take more pictures, which was fine by me!

It was a really nice view, and I took advantage of it. I took many pictures with my camera which I will be editing afterwards.

Once it was my group’s turn to actually enter the Museum, we went in and were instantly greeted by all sorts of things. There were old radios, and record players, and even phonographs everywhere.

It was impressive, and the guide showed us all sorts of machinery. He also gave us history behind some of them. It was a quaint little museum. There were also several other knickknacks in it that gave it personality.

After the museum, we were free to explore more of Howth. Several of us agreed we wanted to stay here all day and see what it had to offer, because we quickly realized that we loved it here! Max, Savannah, Grace, Jaylen and I all adventured up and down the pier, going back and forth taking many, many pictures, and just having a good time all around.

And then we heard a seal had been spotted! So, we quickly rushed to see it. My goodness, it was funny. It was literally just chilling, watching people. It probably wanted food LOL.

After that, our group ran into E and Ash. And they had heard that we could take a boat out to Ireland’s Eye for only 30 Euro. So, we didn’t hesitate and ran to the boat. We got on, and we quickly became struck with awe the closer we got to the Eye. It was magnificent!

We also saw so many seagulls and even some Puffins in this area! Unfortunately, I didn’t get any good puffin pictures though, they were just moving too fast. But once we landed on the Eye, it was nothing but cool pictures and disbelief. The Eye had such beautiful landscapes.

We only had an hour there, so we wanted to hike to the other side and to the top before we had to go back. So, we made our way there, having a fun time as we went along. It was a bit of a hike, but not too bad. And it was worth it once we made it to the end. I can’t stress enough how much we were in awe of the scenery. Everyone took it in and then we all took cool pictures before we made our way back down.

Once we made our way back down, we hopped back on the boat and made it back to the mainland of Howth. With the Eye now explored we had seen all we wanted to in Howth. We made our way back on the train and all went back home to rest. I know I at least have several plans of the next two days, so stay tuned for those…
