May 6th: Day One
After a long day of layovers and flights, we finally landed in Ireland! Although, we did have to sit in the Dublin airport for a few more hours before being picked up. After making our way to out bus, we finally started to get a little taste of Ireland. The bus ride to our apartments was relaxing, being able to see many scenic views, and ride through a few minute long tunnel. We shortly dropped off our bags, and made our way to the CEA Center where we had our orientation and some lunch.
We were able to meet the staff, and everyone in charge of CEA while we are staying. Sean, who was the ono who met us at the Airport, gave us a rundown of how everything will work, some history of Ireland, and basic advice and information to get around the city . After parting ways from the center, as a a group, we all walked back to our apartments and got settled in before our group welcome dinner.
After unwinding and unpacking for almost an hour, me, Kira, Sav, and Grace, all went to Lidls, the local grocery store to pick up some groceries for the next few days. Me and Kira took an hour nap, from being exhausted from travel, before we had to leave for dinner.
We had our dinner at a place called The Brazen Head, which is located five minutes in walking distance from our apartments. Since I am a picky eater, I only got a basket of fries, or as they call it here, chips! We also got to pick dessert, in which I got this really tasty brownie that I could not finish. Dinner was an absolute blast, besides being tired. We all had good conversations, and soaked in our first day on the ground!
