Final Send Off!

Thursday, May 22nd, 2025

Today is our final day on our Ireland trip, and unfortunately I did not much more than stay inside and prepare myself for coming home.  Sav and I did step out to go to some shops on Grafton Street to get a few souvenir type stuff, but other than that we didn’t do much else before dinner.  Oh! And we also got our final Biscoff McFlurry from McDonalds (a treat we learned that is 1: a limited time offer only in Europe, and 2: is so delicious and we love them immensely).  So we did that as well as a final hoorah.

Tonight we had our farewell dinner at a fancy Italian restaurant called Dunne & Crescenzi.  It was so nice to get together as a group and relax a bit before a very busy and chaotic next day of traveling.  I had chicken marsala and roasted potatoes for dinner and vanilla panna cotta with raspberry compote for dessert.  The food was pretty good, and the dessert was interesting.  I have never had panna cotta before, and although it tasted like cheesecake (yum), I couldn’t really get past the fact that it was gelatinous like Jell-O.  However, it was a fun evening all together.  I liked staying behind a bit after everyone but a few left, it was just a great opportunity to thank Sean, Ales, Heather, and Robin for everything they have done for us and for all of the things they organized to make this such a fun and memorable experience.

I still can’t believe that this journey has come to an end.  It went by so quickly, yet so much time has passed.  I have been blessed to have experienced the things I experienced and done the things I’ve done.  I am deeply grateful for this experience and would recommend anyone to go on a trip like this if they can.

A final goodbye – my last view of Ireland

Now, I am preparing for my journey home, which I do miss very much and am actually really excited to get to go home to my family (and my pets!).

Until next time Ireland!
