Into the Woods!

Day Six, the first free day. What did I get up to today, you may ask?

Well, I paid for a halfway bus drive to Wicklow to see this fairy forest. E had been the one to implant the idea in my brain. We also got Max and Alex to tag along. Hurrah! Since this was the day after Howth, I was sunburnt as heck. That wouldn’t stop me from having fun.

An early morning at the bus stop took us to the Spire, something that Alex had mentioned to me earlier that week, and the Dublin Portal as well. We did not get to see much of the Portal before the bus arrived, but it was strange to see the streets of Dubin so bare compared to how I have preciously seen them. It was peaceful, tranquil,

Richard, our bus driver and tour guide, had quite the resume. He as escorted many a celebrity including Bill Clinton, Beyonce, and Michael Buble.

Getting to explore the area was my favorite part of the day. There were multiple times throughout the day that I had to remind myself that I was not, in fact, In Pennsylvania. The hike reminded me of one of the trails back at Girl Scout camp. I swear, I had flashbacks in the best way possible. Promise.

Churches, ruins, and waterfalls galore, this hike was everything that I anticipated to be.

Returning to the city was jarring. I do not usually like nature, but I missed it when we arrived back in Dublin. We did some shopping, checked out the Portal now that it was activated. I bought another birthday gift for my sister while we were out. I can’t wait for her to see it.
