Day 8 –
Joined by my usual company (E, Alex, and Jay), I went to the most adorable cafe for breakfast. It was a tiny place recommended to us by Ruben, I think. It was called Lemon Jelly. Naturally, I wanted something lemon-y, so I ordered the lemon crepe and yet another matcha. We had the most amazing server, Emma, who’s social media I ended up nabbing at a later date. The sandwich that Alex got looked mouthwatering.
After fueling up for the day, it was time for the first activity: Visiting RTE.
Being a broadcast major, I wasn’t a stranger to a newsroom, but this was intimidating. The professional nature of the studio was nothing to sneeze at. Everything was done as it should be when it should be. It was strange to hear a foreign news service talking about our president. I know that they don’t think fondly of us due to him, so that was strange. Being in the studio felt surreal. It did, however, hammer in the fact that I do not want to be in News anymore.
Next up, Irish dancing. I am not a well coordinated individual. Regardless of the few musicals that I have been in, I am not exactly light on my feet. That did not matter, though, since we all kinda bumbled around. I went into thing nervous, and ended it in a fit of laughter. the only negative was that Max accidentally smacked into me. WE were both fine, I laughed it off.
