One of the many highlights of my trip was my visit to the cliffs of Moher. A scenic tourist destination off the coast of Ireland.
The cliffs hang over verdant agrarian fields and stretches far down the windy landscape. It was amazing seeing it cause I’ve never seen anything like it in the United States. The way it steeply heads down into the rocky ocean. I had never seen that before. It was like Ireland just abruptly stopped when it met the ocean.
It was amazing to look at the scenic cliffside. I liked seeing the cows grazing so close to the edge and the seagulls that rested on the rocks.
The path we walked was not too long and didn’t wear us down. Which was nice because we had a lot planned for that day.
One thing to mention was the farthest edges of the cliff were walled off for safety reasons but I see no problem with that. The weather was also great. It was warm and the sky was a pristine blue with little clouds. Because of this I was able to see far out into the ocean.
One serendipitous coincedence is that the night prior I had seen The Princess Bride for the first time. One location in the movie called “The Cliffs of Insanity” was filmed at The Cliffs of Moher. Due to this, the whole time I was there the thing I kept hearing in my head was the line in the movie where a character yelled “The Cliffs of Insanity!”.
This was a great experience and I’m glad I went. It’s the kind of place you have to go to when in Ireland.
