Today we ventured to across the Irish border into Belfast. The trip was quite long, but gave me time for a good nap. Our first stop was the Titanic museum. We didn’t get to go through it unfortunately, but we did get to look in the gift shop and the Titanic Hotel across the street.
Then we stopped by St. George’s Market for some lunch. It was a really vibrant and bustling street market with a variety of different vendors. I got a cheeseburger. which was very good. One of the vendors successfully coerced me into trying to some homemade hot sauce and was very close to getting me to buy some. I had to commend her own her prowess as a salesperson. Truly excellent work. I then got some ice cream from this very kind woman and she gave me two scoops for the price of a single. Which was a score and the ice cream was also amazing.
After we left, we had a two hour walking tour, seeing important sites and monuments of the Troubles. It was very interesting and beautiful. Although, my legs were dead by the end of it. Afterwards, we landed in city center and got to explore for about an hour before we got back on the bus. The city was a tad overwhelming and not as pretty as Dublin, but it was still cool to be somewhere new.
