After getting literally no sleep on the flight before, we arrived at around 6:00 AM in Dublin time. Everyone was basically a zombie, soooo tired after not having slept much, and now we had to wait for the arrival of the CEA people. But, we had about two hours to kill until they arrived. At first, I thought that this could be a chance to sleep. But that was quickly quashed, as the airport was noisy, and the seats were uncomfortable. So, we looked around, and I decided to get an energy drink and a chocolate bar as my first Dublin snacks. Very interesting names, I must say.

Eventually our CEA guide came and got us onto a bus. He told us about certain landmarks we should remember while in Dublin, and other various facts about it. We dropped our stuff off at the apartments and then walked over to the Champlaigne College Study Center. Our guide, Sean, gave us a detailed overview of the map and the resources we had available to us. We then were allowed to get into our apartments. I set up and took a shower, which made me feel better and slightly more awake. The goal was to stay up until around 9 or 10 to try and get our bodies more used to Dublin’s time zone. Then we went to the Brazen Head pub to have a hearty Irish meal. I chose fish and chips, which was excellent.

And to top it off I got a brownie for dessert. I thought this would be the end of my day, as I was so tired. But my friend’s convinced me to go to St. Stephen’s green. This is a park I really wanted to see, so on we went. It was a very beautiful park, with lots of bird wildlife. On the way back, we got a little lost, so we were out until almost 9:00. Bingo- we made it to the night! And thus, my first day in Ireland ended.
